BITS Pilani's Startup Conclave Concluded

<p>Chennai-based healthcare startup Swagene became the winner of the eleventh edition of Conquest, its International Startup Conclave held in BITS Pilani.
The event brought together India’s budding startups on one platform to compete with each other for the title.
There were all total 1400 registrations and amongst them 50 startups were selected and they were invited to attend the networking sessions in New Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai.
While Delhi-based gaming app startups Gamezop was declared runners-up.
"We are very happy to see the year's hard work end on such a high note in the presence of this huge gathering of investors, entrepreneurs and students joining in from across the country," said Srikanth Garimella, the Chief Executive Officer of Conquest 2015.
The jury members included distinguished names from industry like -Shailesh Vikram Singh, Executive Director at Seedfund; Dev Khare, Managing Director at LightSpeed India Partners Advisors; Mathieu Morand, Investment Associate at Orios Venture Partners; Anant Vidur, VC Investment Professional at Bessemer Venture Partners, Nilesh Kothari, co-founder and managing partner at Trifecta Capital Advisors to name a few.
"As part of the Institute's Vision 2020, it is our imperative to promote entrepreneurship among students who are the future of the country. Conquest, which was started by a group of enterprising students, has become a launch pad for young entrepreneurs,” said Dr Ashoke Kumar Sarkar, Director, BITS Pilani.
Jagat Shah, was the Chief Guest at the event. The Guest of Honour was VN Alok, who is the Coordinator of Centre for Urban Studies at the Indian Institute of Public Administration.
Other panelists at the event included Rajesh Swahney, CEO and co-founder of GSF Accelerator and Inner-Chef; Sanjay Nath, co-founder and managing partner of Blume Venture Advisors; Neeru Sharma, co-founder at Infibeam.com; Saurabh Arora, CEO and co-founder at Lybrate, among others.
