BRICS Nations to Setup Cooperation in Education
A ‘New Delhi Declaration of Education’ was issued in the meeting through which the nations will hold an annual conference of the BRICS Network University.
The BRICS countries – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa have taken a pledge to set up cooperation in education. These nations have decided to facilitate movement and exchange of students and faculty in each other’s institutions especially in the areas of climate change, economy, water resources and energy.

The education ministers of all the BRICS nations met on September 30, 2016. A ‘New Delhi Declaration of Education’ was issued in the meeting through which the nations will hold an annual conference of the BRICS Network University. According to the Declaration, the annual conference will take place at a country of the current BRICS chair.

The education ministers of all the nations of BRICS have also decided to identify a nodal institution in each country and create an institutional network to share ICT policies, education resources and resources related to e-libraries. The five countries also decided to strengthen the BRICS – TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training).
The countries have taken a pledge to work with commitment towards the development of equal quality education and promote life-long opportunities for all.
