British Council Announces £1 Million Scholarship for Indian Students

In its bid to attract more Indian students, the British Council has announced the Great Britain Scholarships–India 2017. The one million pounds scholarship is part of the campaign to motivate Indian students.
Mei-kwei Barker, Director of British Council (South India) informed that this will include 198 scholarships in different areas including management, law, engineering, art, design, etc. for Indian students who want to study in the UK. This will include 29 under-graduate and 169 post-graduate scholarships in the areas mentioned above.

The director also added that the UK has been focusing on imparting truly international education experience. She also added that currently more than five lakh overseas students are pursuing education in the UK.
The ‘Study UK: Discover You’ exhibition will be hosted by the British Council in Hyderabad on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. The event invites aspirants who want to know understand the detailed aspects of studying in the UK.
The attendees will get an opportunity to interact with representatives from more than 20 UK universities who will answer queries related to course choices, applications, visas, scholarships, etc.

A mobile app has also been launched by the British Council to help Indian students and parents understand the aspects of UK education.
UK universities are also discussing education strategy with the Government of India. The aim is to get recognition for the UK University-approved courses. This way the students will be able to benefit from UK degrees in India.
