B.Tech Admissions 2021 in UP to be based on JEE Main, UPSEE Scrapped
AKTU Lucknow has confirmed that B.Tech admissions from the academic session 2021-22 in UP will be based on JEE Main. UPSEE has been scrapped from 2021.
AKTU Lucknow, the conducting body of UPSEE has confirmed that B.Tech admissions in Uttar Pradesh will be based on JEE Main. The state-level entrance exam, i.e., UPSEE has been scrapped from the next academic session (2021-22). Therefore, candidates aspiring for B.Tech admission in UP from 2021 will have to register and appear for the JEE Main exam conducted by NTA. As NTA conducts JEE Main twice a year, UP B.Tech aspirants can use this opportunity to aim for popular B.Tech colleges.
JEE Main 2021 score will be applicable for state-quota admissions in Uttar Pradesh. After the announcement of JEE Main phase 2 results, AKTU Lucknow will conduct a centralized counselling process to fill the seats in government and private B.Tech colleges across the state.
The Government of Uttar Pradesh will take steps to provide free coaching for JEE Main exam to all the students pursuing Class 12th or Intermediate in government schools.
The official notification for JEE Main January 2021 will be released in December 2020. The registration process may continue till mid-January, and the entrance exam is expected to be conducted in the last week of February. On the other hand, the Phase 2 exam of JEE Main 2021 is expected to be conducted in May.
The state government’s decision to accept national-level exam score (JEE Main) for B.Tech admission is positive, as most of the syllabus covered in Class 11th & 12th of UP and JEE Main is similar.
