Business Schools of Three IITs Rank in Top 10 Management Institutes List of NIRF 2017
A total number of three business schools of Indian Institutes of Technology, i.e., IIT Roorkee, IIT Delhi and IIT Kharagpur have featured in the top 10 list of National Institutional Raking Framework (NIRF) management ranking this year.
A total number of three business schools of Indian Institutes of Technology, i.e., IIT Roorkee, IIT Delhi and IIT Kharagpur have featured in the top 10 list of National Institutional Raking Framework (NIRF) management ranking this year.
A total number of 542 management schools participated in the rankings and the business school of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi was ranked sixth, Vinod Gupta School of Management of IIT Kharagpur bagged seventh rank and the business school of Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee secured eight place.

The major strength behind securing top ranks for these premier B-Schools is the emphasis that is given to research activities. All the three B-Schools have done exceptionally well in the area of research.

On the other hand, ‘teaching and learning’ remained as the preliminary aspect of every B-School. The research output that includes intellectual property, research publications, development programmes and consulting services have led to new paradigms of management initiatives.
Prof. Prabina Rajib, Action Dean of VGSoM, IIT Kharagpur expressed that the main objective of the business school is to add new dimensions to classroom teaching. For this purpose, the faculty should undertake deep-learning and innovative research & development (R&D) projects and VGSoM of IIT Kharagpur has been successful in it.
Premier B-Schools like Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore bagged top two positions in the NIRF rankings 2017. Indian Institute of Management, Indore bagged the 10th spot in the rankings.
