AICTE Report on Management & Engineering Placements 2018
The number of students getting placed through campus placements from technical, management and engineering institutions is less than 60%. This was shared by Satya Pal Singh, the Union Minister of State for HRD, as an answer to a written question in the Lok Sabha.
Singh said that according to the placement data of students available with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the average campus placement for the graduates from the technical, management and engineering institutes is not even 60%.
To increase this number and encourage 100% placement for the graduates, an outcome-based model curriculum for UG and PG level courses in management and engineering programmes has been launched by AICTE. This will make the programmes industry-oriented and also, institutes are now responsible for providing internships for students so that they have better employment prospects, Singh further said.
