Cancer Is Just Another Exam, Say Mumbai Teens Appearing for XII Boards
Two Maharashtra Class XII students Eros Agrawal and Samiksha Sinkar suffering from Blood and Bone cancer appeared for Class 12 Board Exams 2019. These students proved that strong determination is enough to fight all odds in life.
Two Maharashtra Class XII students Eros Agrawal and Samiksha Sinkar suffering from Blood and Bone cancer appeared for Board Exams which commenced from 21st February 2019. For them, the exams are not merely an evaluation of their knowledge but also their determination to defeat cancer.
A Commerce student in Mithibai College and a resident of Mira Road, 17-year-old Eros Agrawal decided to appear for Board Exams in spite of going through the rigours Chemotherapy Sessions. Appearing as a private candidate, he was first diagnosed with the fatal disease during October 2017. His father Rajesh Agrawal recalls his treatment days when travelling was difficult which forced him to skip his XI exams. Eros filled his exam form despite many obstacles including family’s suggestion to appear for Boards next year.

A meritorious student, Eros aggregated 90% in X Boards and wants to fulfil his dream of becoming a CA. Citing his medical condition, he will be allotted extra 20 mins for each hour by the State Board.

Similarly, another 17-year-old Commerce student Samiksha Sinkar, who is suffering from Bone Cancer appeared for XII Boards. According to her family, Samiksha not only opted against missing a year but has also been working hard for Design School Entrance Exams. Sonali, Samiksha’s mother is hopeful that her daughter will clear the exams. Samiksha is optimistic about finishing the papers without utilising the extra time allotted to her by the State Board.
