Many aspirants found CAT 2017 difficult as compared to the previous years. Some students felt that the DILR section was tough while some raised issues on VARC section. The exam was conducted in two sessions and DILR was difficult in the first slot and VARC in the second slot.

Usually, if there is more than one session in CAT, the exam conducting authority follows normalisation process with an objective to ensure fairness. Preliminarily, raw scores are calculated and they are adjusted through an equating process. The adjustment is done on the basis of difficulty level in each slot.
