CAT 2020 registration last date has been extended until September 23, 2020. Here are all of the important details that you need to know before filling the CAT 2020 application form.
The dates of registration for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2020 has been announced by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore in the official notification released on 29 July 2020. The registration for CAT 2020 began from 5 August at 10 AM and will go on until September 23, 2020. While registering for CAT 2020, applicants will need to ensure that they use Edge Chromium or Mozilla Firefox (version 56 and above) or Google Chrome (version 59 and above) browser. At the time of CAT registration, candidates will have to use Edge Chromium or Mozilla Firefox (version 56 and above) or Google Chrome (version 59 and above) browser. In the CAT registration form 2020, candidates will have to enter their class X, XII, graduation and post-graduation marks along with other professional course details.
The release of the official notification brings relief to the lakhs of aspirants who were worried about whether CAT 2020 will be postponed. Now, it has been confirmed that CAT, the most popular MBA entrance exam in India, will be conducted on 29 November. IIM Indore has also confirmed that there have been no changes in the CAT 2020 exam pattern.
CAT 2020 Registration Highlights
Given below are some important points to remember about CAT 2020 registration.
- Candidates have to pay the registration fees only once. It does not matter how many institutes they apply to.
The CAT application fee has been increased this year. SC / ST / PwD candidates now have to pay Rs. 1,000 instead of Rs. 950. The fee for General and other category candidates has been increased to Rs. 2,000 from Rs. 1,900.
Candidates now have to option to select 6 exam centres in the CAT application form. Earlier, it was limited to 4.
Here is the list of state-wise exam centres of CAT.Candidates will also be required to select their preferred IIM campus for the WAT / PI shortlisting round.

CAT 2020 Registration Process
Candidates who are interested in registering for CAT 2020 can do so starting 5 August at 10 AM. Candidates will be then able to access to application form for CAT from the official website of the exam. Here are the steps that you need to follow to complete your CAT application form.
Step 1 | Visit the official website of CAT 2020 -iimcat.ac.in |
Step 2 | Click on the 'Register' button under 'New Candidate Registration'. |
Step 3 | Enter your personal information such as Name, Phone Number, Email ID etc. |
Step 4 | OTP will be required to verify your information and confirm your account. Enter OTP and continue. |
Step 5 | Check your inbox for your CAT 2020 user ID and password |
Step 6 | Login to the CAT 2020 application form using the user ID and password received. |
Step 7 | Fill in all of the details required in the CAT 2020 application form. Make sure you enter correct details as per your supporting documents. |
Step 8 | Upload the scanned copy of your photograph and signature where. |
Step 9 | Preview and application and confirm that all of the entered details are correct. Submit the application form. |
Step 10 | Pay the application fee using your desired payment method. |
