How to calculate Percentile for CAT 2021?

Check the steps given below on how to calculate your overall and sectional percentile for CAT 2021. The calculation process will be similar for all three sections, i.e, VARC, DILR, and QA.  Here we have explained using the Quantitative Ability (QA) section.

  • Step 1: Calculate the total number of applicants (N) who appeared for the test in all three slots.
  • Step 2: Now, rank (r) must be assigned based on the candidate's scores in the QA section. If similar scores are secured by two or more aspirants then, identical ranks must be allocated to all such candidates.
  • Step 3: Candidate's percentile score (p) must be calculated with their rank (r) secured in the QA section.
  • Step 4: Percentile scores (p) of the test takers must be rounded off up to two decimal points. For eg. percentile scores more than or equal to 99.995 are rounded off to 100 and if the score is less, then it will be rounded off to 99.99.

Note: Similar steps will be followed for the percentile score calculation for all the sections in CAT 2021.
