How CAT Score is converted to CAT Percentile?
There are three stages, which are followed to convert the CAT score into percentile. At first, the authority considers the CAT raw score based on their performance level, and then the scaled score will determine the CAT percentile. Note, that the candidates will not find the CAT raw score in the scorecard, instead they will find the CAT scaled score and the percentile for each of the sections along with the overall CAT score.
- CAT raw score: It is calculated manually using the individual’s CAT response sheet
- Conversion of CAT raw score to scaled score: Using the normalization method, the CAT raw score will be converted into the scale score. Since the CAT 2023 exam has been conducted in three slots, therefore, the normalization method will be used
- Conversion of CAT Scaled score to Percentile: Finally, the CAT scaled score will be considered for converting into percentile
Note, that the authority will consider the CAT percentile marks for allotting rank to the candidates.
