CAT 2021 Sees Least Registrations in Five Years: Number Drops to 1.92 lakhs
CAT 2021 witnessed a surge in the number of applications received. This year, almost 1.92 lakh candidates are competing for CAT 2021.
A drop has been reported in the number of candidates that applied for CAT this year. The total number of candidates in CAT 2021 has dropped down to 1.92 lakhs, a decrease of more than 16 percent as compared to last year. As a comparison, CAT 2020 had received 2.3 lakh registrations.
The number of applicants in CAT 2021 has been released after the CAT 2021 application process concluded on November 28 in three different slots. This year's number of registrations is the least that has been seen in the last five years of CAT and is the first time a major drop has occurred in the number of registrations since CAT 2013.
This year, IIM Ahmedabad was responsible for conducting CAT. CAT 2021 exam was scheduled for November 28, 2021. IIM Ahmedabad conducted the exam in 438 exam centres and 156 cities across the country. Last year, IIM Indore conducted the exam, and 2.3 lakh candidates registered for the national-level management entrance exam.
