CBSE Allows Students to Modify NEET 2016 Applications till June 29

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-II) application portal was reopened by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on June 27, 2016. The board’s motives are to provide a one-time correction opportunity to the candidates who have already registered for the exam.

Candidates will be able to modify those attributes of the application which might have an influence on the merit list of NEET 2016. The modification window will remain active up to June 29, 2016, up to 11:50 pm.

CBSE has made it clear that correction will be allowed only in specific fields of NEET 2016 online application form. These fields are the date of birth, category, gender, state codes of eligibility, disability status and medium of question paper.

Authorities of the board have made it clear that any other field of the application form cannot be changed as they are not of relevance to the candidature or merit list. Candidates must make all the changes carefully as no opportunity will be provided to make corrections in the future.

The board also mentioned that an additional fee is applicable in order to change any of the above-mentioned categories. This amount should be paid through the similar procedure via Debit Card/Credit Card or Net Banking within the given time period. The amount that will be charged has not been declared yet.

NEET-II will be conducted by CBSE on July 24. The exam is conducted with the purpose that the students can get a chance to redeem their score for admission to various medical and dental colleges for the academic session 2016.

The result of both the NEET exams will be announced together on August 17, 2016. Up to 30,000 MBBS and BDS seats will be allotted on the basis of NEET 2016 results. These seats are under 15% All India Quota, and Private/Management/NRI seats across all private medical and dental colleges or private/deemed universities.
