CBSE Class 10, 12 term 1 results have been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education. After the CBSE term 2 Class 12 test 2022, only one mark sheet with a passing certificate will be awarded. This will include the total marks from both terms, weighted according to the CBSE term 1 and term 2 exams. According to a notice given by the board during the CBSE term 1 result day, the weightage of CBSE terms 1 and 2 will be decided when the CBSE term 2 result for both Class 12 and 10 is announced. The CBSE Board, on the other hand, has yet to announce how much weightage will be given to both terms. Meanwhile, students have demanded clarification on the weighting of the CBSE term 1 results 2022. After the CBSE announced the CBSE term 1 Class 10, 12 results 2021-22 and announced the CBSE term 2 exam dates on cbse.gov.in, there was a surge of requests for an update on social media.

CBSE Class 10 & 12 Term 1 and Term 2 Weightage Criteria

The weightage criteria have not been defined. The board had implied in the initial circular that the two terms might have equal weight. This, however, is now in doubt. The board announced in a CBSE Circular dated March 11, 2022 that the "weightage of Term 1 and Term 2 would be decided at the time of the publication of Term II result and ultimate performance will be calculated appropriately." The notice for Term 2 Results has yet to be released by the board. However, it is expected to be the same for CBSE Class 10 and CBSE Class 12. In other words, it's possible that the board will decide to assign equal weight to both terms or to give higher weightage to Term 2 marks and less weight to Term 1 marks. Additionally, following the Term 2 examinations and when the CBSE Results 2022 are calculated, the marks will be moderated. Remember that these are just numbers, and the ultimate outcome, including toppers, merit lists, pass/fail status, will be determined after the Term 2 exams.
