- CBSE Board has announced that there will be no re-exam for Class 10 Maths exam after evaluating answer sheets.
- The Delhi High Court had also asked the board to arrive at a decision regarding Maths re-exam by April 16, 2018.
The CBSE Board has decided against conducting a re-exam for class 10 maths paper despite reports of exam leak. According to the most recent developments, the Board decided not to conduct class 10 maths re-exam after examining the answer sheets of students in detail. Maths re-exam will not be conducted even in regions like Haryana and Delhi NCR, where the leaks were reported.
According to CBSE, the maths exam answer sheets were thoroughly examined and no trend was found that reported that students had exploited the exam leak. The experts also added that the performance of the students in the previous exams was also analysed to compare whether they had performed poorly in previous exams and did extraordinarily in the board exam. Experts added that since no such pattern was found that supports the Maths exam leak, there will be no re-exam for Class 10 maths paper.

Yesterday, Delhi High Court had asked the CBSE Board to clarify the status regarding the class 10 maths re-exam on Monday, April 2, 2018, since the paper was leaked. The Delhi HC bench comprising acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar asked for information about possibilities of Class 10 Maths re-examination.
The CBSE Board had replied that it was still trying to figure out the extent of the Class 10 Maths exam leak before announcing the date for the re-exam. The CBSE added that the date for the re-exam has not been decided as the board is trying to figure out whether the class 10 maths exampaper was leaked pan-India or only took place in Delhi and Haryana.
The Delhi High Court also questioned CBSE as to how could it delay the re-exam till July as it will be a long wait for the students and will increase their anxiety. The Court further added that the delay in re-exam would waste a year of the students and will also keep a sword hanging over their heads. Class 10 board exams are also serious as the result helps students to decide which field (science, commerce or arts) they want to choose.
