CBSE Aims for Error-Free Marking in Board Exams 2019, 40% More Evaluators This Year
CBSE is aiming to ensure error-free evaluation and marking in Class 10, 12 board exams 2019. Workshops are being conducted where evaluators must assess a dummy common answer sheet and assign marks for the same.
CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) is aiming for error-free marking/ evaluation in Class 10, 12 board exams 2019. For this purpose, CBSE is conducting workshops and training sessions for evaluators across the country. The objective is to train one-lakh evaluators, principals and teachers to ensure error-free marking in board exams. CBSE Class 10 board exams 2019 began from February 21, 2019, while the board exams for Class 12 commenced on February 15, 2019.
CBSE has also increased the evaluators for CBSE Board Exams 2019. According to sources, 40% more evaluators will be engaged to ensure error-free marking in CBSE Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2019.
So far, CBSE trained 50,000 evaluators, teachers and principals. Last year, CBSE received criticism for errors in the evaluation and the board had taken serious action against 150 teachers who were responsible for errors in evaluation. With an aim to regulate such instances this year, the board has been imparting training to evaluators.
CBSE is also imparting training in academic leadership and pedagogy for teachers, principals, nodal officers, head examiners and assistant head examiners across the country.
Workshops are being conducted where evaluators must assess a dummy common answer sheet and assign marks for the same. Based on the performance of teachers in dummy evaluation exercise, subject experts will address various issues and provide suggestions to teachers. Marking schemes and common mistakes are being discussed in these workshops.

CBSE is conducting these works across major cities. For instance, 1,400 teachers and evaluators were trained in Mumbai. Such workshops are being conducted in Bangalore, Guwahati, Chennai, Lucknow, Agra etc.

CBSE has also announced that ‘creative answers’ written by students in board exams shall be considered for evaluation.
