CBSE, Facebook Collaborates to Train Students and Teachers on Digital Safety
CBSE and Facebook collaborates to introduce Digital Safety and Augmented Reality curriculum for students and teachers. The main aim of the collaboration is to prepare students for the future and create a safe online environment and learning experience.
Central Board of Secondary Education has collaborated with Facebook to launch a Curriculum on Digital Safety and Online Well Being and Augmented Reality. The curriculum is launched for students and teachers and the main objective of the same is to ensure the well being of the students and to simultaneously prepare them for the future.
The curriculum is available on the official website of CBSE and Facebook has partnered with CBSE to develop the same and to build diverse learning communities and bring the world closer. Interested teachers and students can apply for the module online. The course is available from July 6th, 2020. The curriculum on Digital Safety and Online Well-being covers aspects such as safety, privacy, mental health, and Instagram’s Guide for Building Healthy Digital Habits.
As a part of the collaboration between CBSE and Facebook, Facebook will offer support to the board to help build and introduce AR as a curriculum. In the first phase of the training, 10, 000 teachers will be trained whereas in the second phase 30,000 students will be given training. It is a three-weel training program that will take place in batches and will mainly focus on the fundamentals of AR and how to utilise Facebook's software in order to created AR experiences.

Manoj Ahuja, Chairperson, CBSE said, announced the curriculum and informed that the board is excited about its collaboration with Facebook. He further said that CBSE is the only board that has launched modules on Digital Safety and Online Well-being, Instagram Toolkit for Teens, and Augmented Reality.
