CBSE to Give Main 2020 Students a Chance to Clear Compartments

Along with the Term 2 board exams, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has also extended the eligibility requirements for compartment exams. The extension has been provided for the private candidates for the year 2021-22 sessions only. As per the eligibility, the candidates who appeared for Main 2020 under the fall subject category and were put in the compartment but still could not clear it can also appear for compartment exams. As per the official statement released by CBSE on Wednesday through the official website, this decision has been taken only for this session due to some special circumstances.

In terms of the same eligibility criteria, the Main 2021 and August/ September 2021 candidates who were put into the compartment are also eligible for the CBSE compartment exams. Such candidates will be eligible for applying as private candidates for the compartment exams. The compartment exams will be conducted along with the Term 2 board exams for Class 10th and 12th.

For the 2021-22 session, CBSE has decided to conduct Class 10th and 12th exams in two terms: Term I and 2. The Term I exams for both Class 10 and 12 are being conducted everywhere. CBSE will conduct the Term 2 exams in March or April. As per the statement released by CBSE, the conduction of the Term 2 exam will greatly depend on the COVID-19 situation and guidelines as released by the government.
