CBSE to Conduct Practical Examination Externally from 2020
For the 2020 Examinations, CBSE is planning to conduct the practical examinations at the theory examination centres. This is one of the many changes that CBSE has been discussing regarding the examinations conducted in India.
In a circular released by the Central Board of Senior Education, the board has been working upon various changes that need to be brought in the current way of conducting examinations. Among the various amendments that the board has been working upon, it has been contemplating conducting practical examinations at the theory examination centre itself. This decision was made last year in an examination committee, which the governing body of CBSE has approved.
The Regional Director of CBSE Dehradun zone, Ranveer Singh has stated that the board has been planning to conduct the practical examinations externally. Apart from this, the board has also been thinking of changing the marking scheme for the practical examination.
The changes were discussed last year, however, they have been made public this year. In the circular signed by the controller of examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj, it states that the CBSE is considering to conduct the practical examination externally from the 2020 examinations onwards.

One of the other changes that Singh has mentioned was that the students will be expected to do their projects assigned to them, at the school itself. This change was brought out to curb the number of times that the students get their project works done by a professional. This will promote transparency in the system.
