CBSE to Give Another Chance to Failed Class 9, 11 Students
CBSE to give another chance to all failed students of classes 9th and 11th. The CBSE-affiliated schools can conduct the re-test online/ offline and the promotion of the students will be done on the basis of re-tests.
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to give another chance to all failed students of classes 9th and 11th. HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal released an official statement regarding the same stating that schools should conduct online or offline tests for class 9th and 11th students. He also requested the schools to provide students with adequate time for the preparation of re-tests.
CBSE's official circular has asked all its affiliated schools to conduct school-based online or offline tests for failed students. The re-test for class 9th and 11th students will take place irrespective of the fact their examinations have been completed and the results have been announced or some of the exams are pending.
The curricular further notified that it is up to schools whether to conduct the re-tests in online or offline mode and the promotion of the students to the next class will be done on the basis of the same. The re-test will only take place for the current academic year due to the outbreak of Coronavirus. According to the official notification of the board, this is a one-time measure and will not be extended in the future.
Meanwhile, the board will conduct the remaining class 12 board exams from July 1 to July 15 . Also the CBSE evaluation process has already begun. The board is ensuring that all the social distancing measures are followed and the process will be completed within 51 days.
