CBSE UGC NET 2017: Last Day to Submit Applications
- CBSE released the official notification for UGC NET 2017 in August
- Aspiring candidates will be able to register for the exam until 11th Sept. 2017
- No changes have been made in the basic eligibility criteria for the exam this year.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the official notification for UGC NET 2017 in the month of August 2017. Aspiring candidates will be able to register for the exam until 11th September, 2017. The registration process started on 11th August, 2017. UGC NET 2017: Detailed Application Process
The notification for UGC NET 2017 has been delayed this year. Initially, CBSE was planning to release the exam notification on July 24, 2017. Following this, the entire registration schedule was pushed back. Check the revised dates below.

The detailed schedule and notification of the exam will be provided on the official website of CBSE UGC NET 2017. No changes have been made in the basic eligibility criteria for the exam this year.

Hiring for the posts of assistant professor at various centrally funded colleges is done on the basis of UGC NET. Apart from that, the exam is also a qualifying criterion for the Ph.D. programmes offered in various fields.

The CBSE has also notified NET aspirants that Aadhaar numbers will be mandatory to fill application forms. The only exception to this rule will be the candidates from the state of Assam, Meghalaya and Jammu and Kashmir.

CBSE has also declared that the UGC NET exam will be conducted once a year from 2017 onwards. The step has been taken to reduce the number of candidates who apply for the exam but do not write it. The decision has also been approved by the HRD Ministry.
