CBSE UGC-NET Jan 2017 Results to be Declared in March
The results of CBSE UGC-NET 2017 is scheduled to be announced by March at the official website of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The results of CBSE UGC-NET 2017 are scheduled to be announced in the month of March on the official website of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the body that conducted the examination on Sunday, January 22, 2017. CBSE will not inform any candidate individually about their results.
The examination determines the eligibility of Indian nationals for Junior Research Fellowship and for the post of Assistant Professor both in Indian colleges and universities.

The top 15% candidates from each category and subjects from the merit list will be termed eligible and qualified for the post of Assistant Professor. A different list will be prepared for the candidates who qualify for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). Based on the result of UGC-NET, the universities, IITs and other national institutes and organisations select the JRF awardees for full-time research work as per the prescribed procedures.
The examination was conducted in 84 subjects in 90 selected cities of examination spread across the country this year.
Those candidates who qualify NET for Junior Research Fellowship can avail the fellowship of UGC under different schemes. The fellowship offer is valid for two years that is, with reference to the date of issue of Junior Research Fellowship Award letter. If the candidates have already joined Ph.D. and M.Phil courses the date of commencement of fellowship will be from the date of NET result declaration or the date of joining.

Candidates having 55 percent marks in their master degree or equivalent examination are eligible for the UGC-NET examination. But there is a relaxation of 5 percent marks for the candidates belonging to OBC/ ST/ SC and PWD category.
