CEE Kerala Releases Prospectus for Admission to Engg, Medical and Allied Courses

Kerala’s Commissioner of Entrance Exams (CEE) has released the prospectus for the admission to professional courses such as engineering, architecture, medicine and allied courses for the academic session 2018-19.

CEE Kerala included new clauses in the admission prospectus this year. According to the revised rules, it is not mandatory for the engineering students to pay liquidates damages to college authorities if they wish to discontinue engineering studies halfway. Recently, the state government issued an order in this regard and this clause is applicable only for those students who seek admission to engineering courses in government aided, government and government-controlled self-financing colleges. As per the directives of AICTE, CEE Kerala has included this clause in the admission prospectus 2018.

The clause is different for medical and dental courses. Students who seek admission to MBBS/ BDS course under merit quota in government-controlled self-financing colleges or government colleges will have to pay liquidated damages of Rs. 10 lakh for MBBS or Rs. 5 lakh for BDS course if they wish to discontinue the course midway. These students will not be allowed for further allotments conducted by CEE and will not be eligible to appear for the entrance exams (only in Kerala) for at least two years.

The admission season for professional courses will begin April 2018. Students will have to appear for entrance exams like KEAMto get admission in engineering courses in colleges across Kerala. On the other hand,NEET is the national-level medical entrance exam mandatory for admission to MBBS and BDS courses.
