Centralised Admission Process in JNU to Help Students
The admission process at JNU will begin on 18th July 2016 and will continue until 16th August 2016.
Jawaharlal Nehru University, popularly known as JNU, has been making efforts to ease the process of admissions by making it convenient for students to avail library card, hostel accommodation, ID card, health centre card etc. at the time of the registration process.
Earlier, the admission process was conducted at the administrative blocks of the university. However, from this year onwards, the JNU registrations for new students will be carried out at the Convention Centre. The process will begin on 18th July 2016 and will continue until 16th August 2016.
There will also be a provision of security staff and sign boards to assist students at the JNU gate.
JNU is a centralised university located in the capital city of New Delhi. Though it was established in the year 1969, the university first opened its doors for students and teachers in 1970. Students from all over the country seek admission in the variety of courses offered by the university in streams such as Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, Languages, Journalism & Mass Communication, Political Studies, Environmental Sciences etc. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has recognised most of the Schools of the university as ‘Centres of Excellence’. The alumni of JNU have found prominent positions in the government as well as private sector. Also, the university is ranked one of the top universities in India by NAAC.
