The Maharashtra state government has given a sigh of relief to the law aspirants and the law colleges by declaring the schedule of the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for the law courses. The schedule for the registration of the colleges began on 8-July-2016 and will continue till 15-July-2016.
According to CAP, the admissions will be conducted by Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell. The admissions are centralized this year. Initially, the admissions were being conducted by the Universities based on merit. The usual admission procedure has been replaced by CAP. The state government granted professional status to the law courses.

This is for the first time that CAP has been introduced for the admission into three years and five year law courses across various institutes of Maharastra. The year, the classes will commence late as the decision on CAP was delayed by the government. Every year the classes used to commence from mid of July. But, this year, it will be delayed for at least three weeks.
