Centre to Set Up International Educational Institute for Minorities in Rajasthan

The central government will soon establish an International Educational Institute for Minorities in the Alwar city of Rajasthan. In 2016, the central government prepared a plan to set up five such universities across the country. An 11-member committee was constituted to suggest recommendations for the establishment of international educational institutes for minorities. The committee submitted its report to the central government in March 2017.

According to sources, 100 acres of land has been allocated in Alwar, Rajasthan for setting up an international educational institute for minorities. It will be a world-class institute with state-of-the-art infrastructure. Girl students will get 40% reservation in these institutes.

Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Mr. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi revealed that the government began the process of setting up ‘Skill development Hub’ for Minorities in Greater Noida. Similarly, the government will establish over 100 schools for minority communities. These schools will be constructed on the lines of Navodaya Vidyalayas. By the end of 2018, over 32 schools out of 100 will be functional. Special provisions will be given to girl students who wish to join these schools, he explained.

Adding further, Mr. Mukhtar Abbas mentioned that a high-level committee constituted for suggesting recommendations to set up schools for minorities submitted its report recently.

The Union Ministry of Minority Affairs is taking extensive measures to improve the literacy rate of minority communities, especially Muslims. The central government has initiated a campaign for the educational empowerment to improve the literacy rate among minorities.
