CFA Institute Starts Application for Young Women in Investment Initiative
CFA Institute has started with the application process for 'Young Women In Investment' Initiative. The college will intake a maximum of 100 women for the program until March 8th, 2020.
CFA Institute has started with the application process for its 'Young Women in Investment' initiative. The program will select 100 women from any educational discipline. Applicants who are pursuing the final year of graduation can apply for the investment initiative. Besides this, the program is also open for candidates with experience or higher qualification. The application process will end once all the 100 places for the program are occupied or on March 8th, 2020 whichever is earlier, said a statement from the Institute. Candidates may apply for the program on the official website of the CFA Institute.
Vidhu Shekhar, CFA, CIPM, Country Head, India, CFA Institute said that they launched the project in 2018 and since then they have seen considerable demand from both the participants and the investment industry. It is inspiring to see young women from diverse backgrounds such as science, humanities, commerce, business, choosing a career in finance. The intensive four-week boot camps, which take place at centers in Mumbai and Bengaluru, include free boarding and lodging.

Each boot camp will cover basics of investment industry such as alternative investments, securities, financial statements, risk management, regulations, macro and microeconomics, ethics, financial modelling, machine learning, quantitative concepts, and business skills with classroom sessions led by the industry professionals.
All the candidates will be offered a stipend-paying internship for 3-6 months at leading financial institutes in India after the completion of boot camp. The ' Young Women in Investment ' program aims to raise awareness, inspire interest and enable women to see the investment management industry as a viable long-term career option. The program is part of a broader initiative by the CFA Institute Women in Investment Management which aims to improve investor outcomes by promoting gender diversity in the investment management industry.
