Change in CGLE 2016 Examination Pattern
Combined Graduate Level Examination will be conducted via online mode by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC).
In order to make the exam more transparent and to avoid any malpractices, this year's Combined Graduate Level Examination will be conducted via online mode by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC).
Paper pattern has also changed and this time, an essay writing competition will be included in the examination.
Every year, a huge number of students apply for the CGLE and hundreds of students get selected for various mid-level central government jobs.
Earlier, the CGLE was Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) based. From this year, the examination will be conducted through online mode.
According to SSC Chairman Ashim Khurana, changing the examination mode will bring in more transparency in the exam.
To make the aspirants familiar with the new pattern, a video walk through has been put up to help the students.
The exam wiLl be conducted online in the next two months and about 38 lakh aspirants have already applied for CGLE 2016, will have to take the test under the new pattern which will be conducted in the next two months.
Mr. Khurana also mentioned that a notice has already been out regarding the changes in pattern of the exam. Moreover, this method will put a stop to any incident of leakage of exam paper or tampering with the examination process.
The students have also welcomed this new method of examination.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many other senior officials endorsed the decision of conducting CGLE 2016 online.
About 89,000 government posts will be filled via the CLGE 2016 from about two crore applicants.
No fresh applicants can apply for the exam and computer-based examination will ensure greater confidentiality and faster processing of results, they said.
Earlier the exams used to be held in two tiers, from this year, the exam will be conducted in three tiers.
There has been changes in the examination pattern:
Phase I:
Instead of 200 questions, now 100 questions will be there.
Time has been reduced to 1.15 hours instead of two.
Phase two:
Will remain the same
Phase three:
Essay writing to check comprehension and analytical skills of the candidate.
