Check Out the Underwater Robots these 2 IIT Students Designed!

Student of the Indian Institutes of Technology surprise the nation yet again, develop underwater robots. Two students from Indian Institute of Technology – Indore and Indian Institute of Technology – Madras have designed two underwater robots. The design of these two robots has been adapted from the aquatic animals.

Both the robots have very distinctive features and have a lot of scope and potential for further research and discovery. The robots can be used for purposes such as surveillance, etc. The features of the robots that mimic the aquatic animals has caught the DRDO’s attention.

A student from IIT-Indore has designed a robot that mimics the movements of a fish while locomotion under water. The robots are designed to investigation the underwater while sustaining the conditions. The robot can also help in controlling the orientation of missiles.

A student from IIT-Madras has designed a robot named ‘Duli’ that means turtle in Sanskrit with unique hydrodynamics and hiding abilities. It is capable of carrying out underwater seal operations as well as surveillance. It can sustain the undercurrents in the ocean without hampering the life under water.
