Giving a sign of relief to Class 12 students, the High Court of Delhi has directed the Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE to continue with the marks moderation policy. CBSE will now have to award grace marks to the students for the difficult questions asked in the exam. CBSE’s decision to do away with awarding grace marks was challenged by a parent and lawyer. The petitioners claimed that scrapping moderation policy would have a negative impact on students.

After hearing the arguments, the High Court has given its decision on May 23, 2017. Earlier, the HC termed the CBSE’s decision to scrap moderation policy as irresponsible and unfair.
