Instructions to be followed after CLAT Seat Allotment 2024

CLAT Seat Allotment 2024 Instructions: The Consortium of NLUs will publish the results for the second round of CLAT 2024 counselling on January 7, 2024, at 10 AM. Afterwards, all candidates who have been allotted a seat at any NLU, whether of preference or not, must follow the post-allotment instructions to retain their current seat and to become eligible to participate in the next counselling rounds as well. If a candidate fails to do so, then he/she will be removed from CLAT 2024 admissions counselling process.

Instructions to be followed after CLAT Seat Allotment 2024

The Consortium has given a list of instructions, which are elaborated here in simple words:

1.     After the allocation of a seat, the candidate shall exercise one of the following three post-allotment options mandatorily based on their preferences:

• Freeze: This option confirms the current allocation as final and no further change in it will be permitted. Find all details and instructions regarding the Freeze option here: Freeze after CLAT Allotment 2024
• Float: It allows the candidate to reserve their current allocation and participate in the next round for betterment. Find all details and instructions regarding the Float option here: Float after CLAT Allotment 2024
• Exit: It entails that the candidate is no longer interested in the counselling process and wishes to exit it. The current seat allocation of Exit candidates will be cancelled and such candidates will not be able to participate in any further counselling rounds nor they will be able to re-enter the counselling process.

2.     Candidates exercising Freeze or Float options must pay a confirmation fee of Rs 20,000/-, regardless of their reservation category. The confirmation fee is non-refundable and is to be paid only once throughout the counselling process.

3.     Upon payment of the confirmation fee, the candidate will have accepted the seat, depending on the Freeze/Float exercised.

4.     If there is no change in seat allocation of Float candidates until the fifth round, then their seat will be auto-freezed and such candidates will be required to take admission at the allotted seat.

5.     If a candidate fails to exercise any of the above options within the given time, then the candidate will be considered as ‘Not Interested’. These candidates will be disqualified from the counselling process (for all rounds) and will have their current seat allocation forfeited.

6.     The dates to exercise CLAT 2024 seat allotment options for Round 2 and for the payment of the confirmation fee are as follows:

• Start Date: January 8, 2024 (10 AM)
• Last Date: January 12, 2024 (1 PM)
