CMAT 2022 Exam: Innovation and Entrepreneurship Section Details

  • The Innovation and Entrepreneurship section was introduced first in 2021 as an optional section. However, in CMAT 2022, NTA has declared it a mandatory section.
  • This section will consist of questions about Innovative business practices, Business & Economy, Government Plans & policies, who is who among global entrepreneurs & personalities, and others.
  • This section is estimated to have easy to moderately difficult questions.
  • CMAT 2022 will have a total of 3 hours to complete the entire question paper of all the five sections, Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Hence, candidates must divide their time cautiously. 
  • Also, remember that there is no sectional limit, so, candidates must attempt the section that they are confident in first. 

CMAT 2022: Important Topics for Innovation and Entrepreneurship 

The CMAT 2022 important topics for Innovation and Entrepreneurship comprises various topics. Candidates may expect to face questions from these backgrounds:

  • Launch of new ideas and new business ventures in the country. Question-related who launched UPI, RuPay, PayTm, or other such important topics. Candidates must know well who-is-who in the business and economic world.
  • Topics related to Government Policies, Publications, or Practices that directly affect Innovation and Entrepreneurship in India. Questions on the economic survey, economic status, planning, publication of gazettes, etc. 
  • Question of India’s economic status and name in the world arena, position of India in various rankings in terms of economy, innovation, or entrepreneurship. For example- Rank of India as the business in the past 5 years, Title of Biography of JRD TATA, etc.
  • Candidates must also be well-versed with some of the common terminology used such as Auction, Mixed Economy, Boot-Strapping, Start-ups, Tenacity, Environmental Scanning, Liquidator, Partnership, Proprietor, Innovation Management, Trade Mark, Patent, Private Ltd firms & companies, Overtrading, and Break-Even Point.
