With the delay in the commencement of the 2020-21 academic session for B.Tech, the chances of conducting the JEE Main January 2021 exam look bleak. Not all the states started the academic session for Class 12th students. Therefore, it is highly impossible for NTA to hold the JEE Main 2021 exam in January. Usually, NTA conducts JEE Main exam twice a year, i.e., January & April.

According to experts, the JEE Main 2021 exam must be conducted twice. If the government takes the decision to conduct it only once, there will be a huge cry from students and parents. As the 2020-21 academic session has been severely impacted, conducting JEE Main 2021 twice will help students to improve their preparation level.

If NTA tries to conduct the Phase 1 exam of JEE Main in March, the Phase 2 exam can be conducted in May. While most of the board exams will be scheduled in March, conducting the Phase 1 exam in the same month may be stressful for students.

Conducting Phase 1 JEE Main exam will be a challenging task for the government. The decision should be taken in such a way that students are not burdened with the board exams and JEE Main. There should be enough time for the preparation considering the delay in the 2020-21 academic session. The Covid-19 pandemic has adversely impacted the education scenario in the country, which added an additional stress among students and parents.

In all, students can expect a delay in the Phase 1 exam dates of JEE Main. As CBSE and other state board syllabus have been reduced by 30%, the government will not cancel the first phase exam in all probability. The 2020 academic session for Class 12th students is expected to be wrapped up by April or May.
