COVID-19 Impact: Kashmir University to Promote Students Without Exams
Kashmir University to promote students to the next semester based on the internal assessment as per UGC guidelines. The varsity will conduct online classes for the students until August.
Kashmir University will not hold the end-term examinations for the current and previous semester this academic year and will promote students based on internal assessment due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
One of the Senior Official from the University of Kashmir informed that the university will not conduct end-term exams for the current semester and the previous semester where the exams were due to the lockdown. Students will be promoted to the next semester as per the UGC guidelines. The mode of internal assessment is yet to be decided. The decision regarding the same will be taken by the Head of Departments in consultation with their respective Departmental Committees.
Earlier, the university had formed the committee to assess and monitor the online classes and also to come up with a road map and strategy to conduct the exams. The committee also had to formulate a plan for admission to various courses under the prevalent conditions. The university will continue to hold the online classes of the current semester till 15th August 2020 and the teachers have also been asked to hold online classes regularly along with internal assessment.
Prof. Talat Ahmad, Vice-Chancellor, Kashmir University has advised all the teachers to make the best use of available technology and to ensure that classes are conducted regularly.
