CRY & IIT Bombay Collaborate to Develop Career Guidance App for Underprivileged Students
- IIT Bombay Professor Kameshwari is helping students develop an app that provides career counselling to those who register for it.

Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) and Child Rights & You (CRY – A Popular NGO) have collaborated to develop and launch a career guidance app for underprivileged students. Abhyuday, the social body of IIT Bombay is initiating the process of developing the app. Abhyuday can reach over 20,000 students in more than 250 colleges across the country. It conducts donation drives, lectures and yearlong campaigns for the empowerment of underprivileged students. Abhyuday started its Career Counselling Campaign (CCC) with a motive to enable underprivileged high school students to understand different career options available for them and the process to take up these courses.

It was Professor Kameshwari Chebrolu idea's to develop a career-counselling app for underprivileged students. Explaining the app, Kameshwari Chebrolu indicated that helping underprivileged students is the best way of spending time. The app is being developed in such a way that it keeps the identity of helpers and the end user hidden. Anyone can register for this app to help the students in clarifying their career related queries. The association with CRY is highly beneficial to carry out this initiative, she added.

Abhyuday also clarifies the career-related doubts raised by the students. Any student can contact Abhyuday on helpline number 022-33574589 to register a query for any specified stream. A registered volunteer of Abhyuday with adequate knowledge will resolve the query of students. IIT Bombay is helping the students, particularly the underprivileged, to choose appropriate career options.
