CSIR UGC NET Exam Analysis (Dec 2019): Papers Relatively Easier than June Exam

CSIR UGC NET 2019 was held on December 15, 2019, by the National Test Agency (NTA) all over India except the states of Meghalaya and Assam. It was conducted in two shifts - 9.30 AM-12.00 PM and 02.30 PM-05.30 PM. Exams in Guwahati, Jorhat, Tezpur, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Shillong and Silchar have been postponed due to the ongoing protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019. The new dates for the CSIR NET exam have not been declared yet.
The CSIR NET is conducted to select candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and shortlisting them for the post of Assistant Professor in the following subjects:

CSIR UGC NET Exam Analysis 2019 (Subject Wise)
Physical Science paper: According to the candidates who appeared for the paper, it was relatively easier than the June 2019 paper. The questions from Part-A were easier while Part C questions were a little conceptual but not lengthy. They also added that Part B did not include any lengthy questions. Few other candidates found the paper moderately difficult while few others claimed that Part A was extremely easy and Part B was a little difficult.
Life Science Paper: According to a candidate who took the test for the first time, the exam pattern was a bit different and there were not many application-based questions whereas there were direct questions in Part B of the paper. The candidate expects that the cutoff for the paper will be the same as last year. The difficulty level of the paper has been called moderate by the candidates and the questions from Part C of the exam went from moderate to a high level of difficulty. For another lot, the exam went good who found the paper moderately difficult.

Ocean, Earth, Planetary and Atmospheric Sciences: The candidates who appeared for the CSIR NET December 2019 stated that the December Earth Sciences paper was more difficult than June 2019 paper. All the sections- Section A, Section B, and Section C were more difficult where a negative marking of 0.25 marks was included. The negative marking has increased this time which was 1 mark for four-mark questions previously.
