India Takes Australia to WTO Arbitration Over Trade Changes: India recently started a dispute case against Australia at the World Trade Organization (WTO). The disagreement is about changes Australia is making to its promises that might affect India’s trade in services.
Deendayal Port Trust Gets New Chairperson: The Chairman of Deendayal Port Trust in Kandla, Gujarat, has been appointed. The former Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineering (IRSME) of 1993 batch, Sushil Kumar Singh, to operate as the chairman until his superannuation in January 2027.
Haryana Government’s Rs 10,000-Crore Project To Combat Air Pollution: The Chief Secretary of Haryana, T V S N Prasad has announced a Rs 10,000 crore project to address the air pollution of the state. This has been funded by the World Bank.

- Russia Officially Declares USA "an Enemy": Amid the straining ties over Ukraine, on June 5, 2024, Russia officially announced the USA as "an Enemy" state. The Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed the statement after an American Intelligence officer was forbidden from entering St. Petersburg (a city in Russia), and confiscating his Passport.
- KAZA Summit 2024 and Wildlife Product Trade: On May 31, the KAZA 2024 Summit ends which was held in the resort town of Livingstone in Zambia. The five-member countries have agreed to raise the case of lifting the ban on the ivory trade at the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) to be held next year in Geneva, Switzerland.
