Israel-Hamas War: India Launches ‘Operation Ajay’ to Airlift Its Citizens from Warzone

Nearly 18,000 Indian citizens are currently stranded in the war-affected country of Israel. To bring back the Indian nationals safely, the Union government of India launched this evacuation operation after talking briefly with the Israeli War Government. More than a week has passed since the Israel-Hamas War has intensified. Here are the current updates

• EAM, S. Jaishankar announced ‘Operation Ajay’ for Indian nationals currently residing and stuck in war-affected areas of Israel. The Indian Embassy in Israel is contacting everyone to convey the same

• Around 18,000 Indian students and professionals are currently locked in Israel due to ongoing war. S.Jaishankar has ensured the safety of every single Indian by the government

• The first flight under this operation landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi carrying 225 passengers and evacuated safely. The authorities have said that the number of flights will further increase after the successful landing of the first airlift

• Amid the war, US Defense Secretary has arrived in Israel to show support and solidarity to Israel. He has assured to provide everything in this war from the United States to Israel

The Parliamentary Speakers Meeting of all G-20 Nations started at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurated the ceremony and addressed the welcome note focusing on several ongoing events. 

• The 9th P-20 Summit 2023 has been held on October 13 as a part of G-20 Programme 2023. India is the host and president for this year’s ceremony

ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: India Vs Pakistan Match on 14 October to be a Grand Celebration

The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) have planned the much-hyped upcoming match between India and Pakistan at Ahmedabad to be celebrated as a grand event. Check the highlights:

• Several Indian Artists including Neha Kakkar and Arijit Singh are heard to be performing in the opening ceremony of the match at Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday
