- China to create a central agency for data management within the country and abroad:
Chinese officials, in a bid to gain control over valuable data, plan to form a centralized agency in Beijing to manage and oversee all data-related issues within and outside the country. With this move, the agency will gain the power to oversee information management, including China’s Cyberspace Administration.
- Indian-American woman becomes the first justice of a district court in the US:
Tejal Mehta, an Indian-American woman judge, on Thursday, took oath as the first justice of the Ayer District Court of Massachusetts state in the US. Mehta has previously served as an associate judge with the same court.
- Afghan universities reopen only for male students:
The universities in Afghanistan reopened on Monday after the winter break with only male students in attendance as the Taliban-imposed ban on higher education for women holds still. The ban was imposed after the Taliban government accused female students of ignoring a strict dress code and the need to be accompanied by a male relative at all times.

Manik Saha has been elected as the CM of Tripura for the second term after winning 33 seats out of 60 in the Assembly. The oat-taking ceremony is to be held on Wednesday in the presence of PM Narendra Modi.
