Dario Fo was an Inspiring Satirical Writer: Literature Department of DU
Dario Fo was born in Italy in the year 1926 and was 90 years old when he died on 13th October’ 16.
The literature world has lost another one of its gems and is mourning the death of Dario Fo. The Italian writer died recently at the age of 90 because of a lung disease. He was the genius who wrote the famous Accidental Death of an Anarchist, Mistero Buffo, Can’t Pay among many others. He was also the winner of the Nobel Prize in literature for the year 1997. He is one of the many loved writers at the University of Delhi. His work was discussed in the classrooms and performed in the auditoriums by various dramatic societies.

The lovers of literature at Delhi University are very sad and are mourning his death. Keval Arora who is an Associate Professor at the Kirori Mal College said that the news of Fo’s death hit him hard as his work in theatre was very inspirational. He also said that Dario had a charming way of engaging the audience and had a preference for sharp political texts.
Afreen Sen Chatterji who is the President of the dramatics society at Kirori Mal College said that he had a different way of presenting the serious topics. She said that at first, his plays seem like comedy but later one realises that they are mostly satires.
