Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) has been gearing up for re-accreditation without overcoming the challenges that National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) had suggested after the inspection in the year 2014.
The varsity failed to overcome major challenges proposed by NAAC. These include computerisation and automation for better administration, employability of all education programmes, inclusive education to discharge social responsibility and enhancing organisational management and quality of educational programs in nearly 260 affiliated colleges. These suggestions were given by the Chairperson of NAAC team and former Vice Chancellor of Central University of Karnataka, Prof. A.M. Pathan and his five-member team which inspected the university in the year 2014.

Now, the varsity is planning for NAAC re-accreditation. It has been successful in implementing NAAC recommendations regarding Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). The next NAAC inspection is scheduled to take place in the year 2019. Prof. N.K. Dhakad, Vice Chancellor of DAVV, has convened a meeting with the heads of all the departments on November 7, 2016, to discuss the suggestions given by NAAC peer team.
Discussions were also held on the failure of the university to keep pace in outreach through community-oriented and educational programmes in tribal areas as well as national and international linkages in cutting-edge areas like interdepartmental programmes, participatory learning and entrepreneurship training to meet global needs.
Prof. Chandan Gupta, Media Coordinator of DAVV, explained that the major recommendations given by NAAC for quality enhancement of the institutions have been incorporated and yet some of them need to be implemented.
