Delhi Family to Bear Education Expenses of Student Who Cleared IIT
The Delhi CM, Arvid Kejriwal has announced that a Delhi based family has decided to bear the cost of education of Vijay Kumar, who has qualified for the IIT-Delhi after availing the government's free coaching scheme.
The chief minister of Delhi, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal has announced that a Delhi family has come forward with the decision to support Vijay Kumar, who cleared JEE Advanced to study in IIT Delhi. Vijay Kumar, 16, is a son of a tailor father and a homemaker mother. whose financial condition is not stable. Vijay took coaching classes under the financial aid scheme of the Delhi Government named Jai Bheem Mukhyamatri Pratibha Vikas Yojna (JBMPVY).
The chief minister of Delhi held a press conference where he presented the family who has come forward to sponsor Vijay’s higher studies. Vijay’s family was also present at the conference. Mr. Kejriwal said in the conference that Vijay’s achievement is not unknown to the nation anymore. He informed that Vijay availed free coaching under Delhi Government’s JBMPVY scheme which is launched keeping in mind the requirements of underprivileged students like him.

Under the Jai Bheem Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojna, 35 students in total have cleared JEE and NEET examinations to study in India’s top Engineering and Medical Colleges. Some of the best students got admissions in IIT-Delhi, Lady Hardinge College, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Delhi, Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology and Banaras Hindu University (BHU).

Seeing the success of the initiative, the Government of Delhi has increased the aid amount of the Jai Bheem scheme to 1 lakh rupees. The government hopes that it will continue to bring a positive change in the life of meritorious underprivileged students.
