The admission process of Delhi University hasconcluded and Delhi Police is gearing up to take anti-ragging measures as the date of commencement of academic session is getting close. The police have published advertisements in newspapers and pasted posters in DU campus and mentioned help line numbers so that the police get information and take action regarding the issues related to ragging.

ACP of Delhi, Mr.Satish Sharma mentioned that they have already conducted meeting with the university authorities including hostel wardens, college deans, and principals. The authorities are intimated to take remedial measures to avoid the instances of ragging.
Seven inspectors and one ACP have been deployed on campus.Two hundred policemen in and outside of the campus have been appointed to curb the incidents related to ragging. If there are any instances of ragging the students can call 1291, the Delhi police Student helpline number or dial 100 for immediate help. The students can also drop their complaints in the drop box which are set up at various colleges and university. The students can also send their grievances directly to the commissioner of police or can dial 1090.
According to circular published by UGC stated that “Any act of physical or mental abuse which is targeted on a particular student is an offense. The students must not be discriminated by others on the grounds of colour, caste, nationality, religion, economic background, and gender.
