Delhi Technological University to Expand B.Tech Seats by 15%

In order to provide more opportunities to students, the Delhi Technological University (DTU) has increased the number of seats in B.Tech programmes by 15%. The change will take place from the coming academic session, with a total of 1,880 seats offered by the university.

An official of the University informed that 221 seats have been added to the Computer Engineering programme and 25 seats to the Information Technology programme. Number of seats in the NRI/PIO quota have also been raised. 12 more seats will now be offered to abroad students seeking direct admission (DASA).

A total of 1,622 students are enrolled in the university at present in more than 15 disciplines in the B Tech programme provided by DTU. 608 students are also pursuing M.Tech programmes in 22 disciplines from the university.

Among the various disciplines offered by the university are Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics and Computing, Polymer Science and Chemical Technology, Bio-Technology, Automobile Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Production and Industrial Engineering and Engineering Physics.

Over 260 companies participated in the campus placements of the University and made 1,200 job offers in the academic session 2015-16.
