Delhi University`s Standing Committee of the Academic Council had its official meeting on March 17, 2022. The Standing Committee recommended that admissions to the university be solely based on CUCET Scores. As stated in the minutes of the meeting, it is not feasible to include the criterion based on the marks obtained in board examinations. According to the minutes of the meeting, members of the committee felt that the eligibility criteria must be inclusive so that a larger number of students do take admissions in the varsity. Committee also felt that the minimum eligibility criterion should be rephrased, as the aspirants should have passed the Class XII examination.

The members opinioned and advised that the aspirants of CUCET 2022, must appear in CUCET for the subjects, for which they have qualified in Class 12. In case the subjects studied in Class 12 are not mentioned in CUCET, then the candidate should appear for the subject that is similar or closely related to the subjects studied. For the admissions, merit will be estimated and calculated based on the combination of subjects that a candidate takes in CUCET.

The standing committee also proposed that there should be a practical exam for faculty of music and fine arts physical education and sports along with a CUCET score. The practical exam, as well as the CUCET score, will be given equal weightage as 50% for the admissions. Committee also decided that admissions to minority colleges namely St Stephen`s, Jesus, and Mary will also be done through CUCET. There will be separate merit lists prepared during the centralized counselling process for unreserved and minority candidates as per the reservation policy.
