Delhi University DSE M.A. Economics Admission 2018: Application Process & Important Dates
- DU M.A. Economics admission process is expected to begin in the month of June 2018. Interested applicants will have to register on the official website of Delhi University.
- Merit and score in the entrance test will determine the chance of admission in M.A. Economics course at DU.
Department of Economics DSE, University of Delhi offers admission to the M.A. in Economics course every year. DU M.A. Economics is a two-year full-time course consisting of 15 subjects out of which 9 are optional while the remaining 6 are compulsory. The registration process for DU M.A. economics will most likely start in the second week of June 2018. The admission to the master’s programme is strictly on the basis of merit i.e. marks secured by candidates in the undergraduate programme and in the relevant written test. DU DSE M.A. Economics Eligibility Criteria 2018:
Direct Admission:
- For the direct admission to MA economics programme, the candidate must have scored 65% marks and above in B.A. Economics (Hons.)
Entrance Test:
- The candidate has to sit for the entrance exam organized by Delhi University. The admissions to the same will be done on the basis of merit list.
- In case of foreign students, they have an option to either take the department test or submit their GRE scores along with 2 academic recommendation letters.
- Foreign students who are planning to take the department entrance test must apply for the same online within the given time period.
DU DSE MA Economics Application Form 2018:
To fill the M.A. Economics application form candidates will be required to visit the official website of the department. For the registration process of DU DSEEconomics, interested candidates will be required to provide personal and educational details, work experience if any, upload scanned photographs and signature. Once the candidates have paid the application fee, they will be given their application number and password which will be required to download the admit card in future.
The application fee will vary as per the categories. The application fee for general category is Rs. 500/- and for reserved category (SC/ST) is Rs. 300 only.

DU DSE M.A. Economics 2018 Exam Pattern:
The entrance test for Delhi University M.A. economics is based on topics such as:
- Macroeconomic Theory
- Macroeconomic Theory
- Probability and Elementary Econometrics
- Mathematical Techniques used by Economists
The entrance test is a multiple choice exam and for each right answer, candidates will be awarded 4 marks and -1 for a negative response. The exam is conducted in offline mode.
Merit List DU DSE MA Economics 2018:
The department will release the separate merit list for both general and reserved category. The list will be published on its official website and on the notice board of the respective department office. The candidates will be required to present all original documents at the time of the final admission.
DU DSE M.A. Economics Admission Procedure 2018:
- 50% seats in DSE M.A. Economics are reserved for the students who have passed B.A. Economics from Delhi University.
- The minimum qualifying marks vary as per the categories. General category candidates require 40% marks, OBC candidates require 36% and ST/SC candidates need 20% marks.
