Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) members staged a sit-in protest outside the residence of DU Vice Chancellor Yogesh K Tyagi on May 9. The teachers asked the VC to fulfil their demanding regarding various employability issues.

Various issues raised by the teachers were related to pension, alleged meddling with service conditions, non-confirmation of jobs for teachers and various others. The teachers asked the VC to address their demands.

Council Member and Professor, Rajesh Jha, talked about the protest and said that the problems are getting piled up and the VC has not addressed either of the issues for the past one year.

The DUTA has made it clear that the protests will not be stopped unless the VC discusses the matter with the teachers and provides reasonable solutions for the problems.
