Delhi University Off-Campus Colleges Struggling to Fill Seats
- Off-campus colleges of Delhi University have recorded fewer admissions after first and second DU cut-off list 2018.
- Off-campus DU colleges are hopeful of good numbers once the seats are filled in the north and south campus Delhi University colleges.
The admissions to Delhi University based on the DU second cut-off are underway. With only one day left for the closing of admission as per second cut-off, students are busy in getting admission at some of the popular colleges of DU. While popular colleges are witnessing high demand for seats, off-campus DU colleges are still struggling to fill their seats. After two cut-offs, a majority of seats are still lying vacant in these colleges.
For instance, Aditi Mahavidyalaya located in Bawana has been able to fill only 126 out of 800 seats in the UG courses. Since the college is located on the outskirts of the city, students have not evinced interest in getting admission at the college. Compared to the previous year’s admissions, the number of students opting for Aditi Mahavidyalaya after two cut-offs is very less.

Swami Shraddhanand College is also facing the similar problem. After two cut-offs, the college has been able to fill up only 200 out of 1,000 seats. Of these, most students opted for science courses and maximum seats are still lying vacant in B.A. and B.Com courses. The college is expecting maximum admissions after the release of DU third cut-off.
Lakshmi Bai College, which has more than 1,000 seats, has been able to enroll 350 students so far. Since it is not a campus college, the admissions will increase only after seats are filled in campus colleges.

On the other hand, Janki Devi Memorial College has also enrolled 350 students so far. The college offers 990 seats in UG courses. Among various courses, almost all the seats are vacant in the Sociology course.
