Delhi University to Launch Seven Vocational Courses
The registrations are likely to begin from September 1, 2016.
The University of Delhi is planning to launch seven vocational courses for the new academic session. The Academic Council (AC) had given the nod to Maharaja Agrasen College, Jesus and Mary College, Ramanujan College and Kalindi College to launch courses. However, these colleges did not launch the courses as various modalities were being worked out. The new courses which are to be launched are:-
- Printing Technology
- Software Development
- Healthcare Management
- Diploma in TV Programming and News Production
- Bachelor's in Vocational Studies and others
The courses which are offered by Maharaja Agrasen College is a two-year advanced Diploma Course while others are three-year courses. There are 50 seats in each course. The registrations are likely to begin from September 1, 2016. The college offers courses in TV Programming and News Production. Jesu and Mary College offers vocational courses in Healthcare Management and Retail Management.

Ramanujan College offers vocational courses in Banking and Financial Services and Software Development. Similarly, Kalindi College offers vocational courses in Printing Technology and Web Designing.
UGC approved the vocational courses in the year 2014. These courses focus on skills development. The UGC also provides financial assistance of Rs. 1.85 crore to the colleges which are approved to offer vocational courses.
