Diploma Films Made by FTII’s Alumni to be Screened for Public
- Renowned FTII alumni including film makers, technical staff, editors, cinematographers and several noted actors made various diploma films as part of the curriculum.

Film and Television Institute of India or FTII has taken the decision to screen the diploma films made by the former students/ alumni for the public. The renowned alumni of FTII including film makers, technical staff, editors, cinematographers and several noted actors made various diploma films as part of the curriculum. The first batch of FTII commenced in the year 1960. The institute preserved the diploma films made by all the batches of the institute.

Usually, students of FTII make diploma films as a part of a project work in the final year. Most of the films made by the students do not come into limelight. Therefore, FTII has decided to screen the diploma films for the public in its premises once in a week.
The public screening of diploma films is scheduled to begin on August 5, 2017. An alumnus of FTII and veteran actor, Mr. Shatrughan Sinha will take part in the inaugural event. On this occasion, the diploma film in which Mr. Sinha acted, i.e., ‘Angry Young Man’ will be screened at the event.

Director of FTII, Mr. Bhupendra Kainthola revealed that people have been watching Mr. Sinha after he became an actor. However, it is delightful to watch him in the film that was made when he was a student. FTII will also screen the films made by several celebrities who were the students of FTII earlier. Currently, FTII is in the process of restoring around 500 diploma films.
Earlier, FTII also made a proposal to screen the diploma films made by students on Doordarshan. However, the proposal is under consideration with Information and Broadcast Ministry.
